PLAC Parent Legislative Action Committee
Oologah-Talala parents have the opportunity to become involved in shaping the laws that affect their children's education. The Parent Legislative Action Committee (PLAC) was established five years ago by a small group of parents whose children attended Jenks Public Schools. Since that time, the nonpartisan group has grown to include parents from several Tulsa area schools including Owasso, Union, Broken Arrow, Sapulpa, Sand Springs, and Oklahoma City area schools. "The goal of PLAC is to educate parents and state legislators on how laws affect pubic education," said Melissa Abdo, current PLAC President. "We work closely with school administrators and other experts in order to better understand our educational system and how we can improve it." If you would like more information or would like to get involved with Oologah-Talala Schools Parent Legislative Action Committee our first meeting will be held February 6, 2014 at 6:00 pm. More information about the meeting will be announced soon. Thank you and we look forward to working with you.
