September 2014

State Testing and A – F School Grade Cards

Oologah/Talala Public Schools is committed to setting and reaching high goals so that every student can succeed.  Administrators received preliminary site report cards back in mid-August and were not surprised by the grades earned by each site.  Our district has a proud tradition of excellence when it comes to academic performance.  We are continually one of the highest scoring districts in the county and are striving to be one of the highest scoring districts in the State.

The Oklahoma State Board of Education released the final Grade Cards to Schools on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.  Parents can access Oologah/Talala Public Schools grade cards by going to www.sde.state.ok.us, click on A-F grading and look for Oologah/Talala Public Schools under Rogers County.  Our grades are as follows:

Oologah High School: Oologah High School received an overall grade of an A on the report card.

Oologah Middle School:  Oologah Middle School received an overall grade of a “B” on the report card.

Oologah Upper and Lower Elementary Schools: Oologah Upper and Lower Elementary Schools each received an overall grade of “B-“on the report card

School improvement is a difficult task.  We constantly strive to enhance our curriculum and provide high quality professional development to our teachers.  In turn, teachers and staff work diligently with our students to increase student performance.  The learning should not stop when a student leaves the school.  You can help.  Parental involvement is one of the greatest factors in determining a student’s success.  I encourage you to work with your children by reinforcing the reading, writing, and math skills that are being taught in the classroom.  Talk to your child’s teacher and find out what you can do to help your child be successful this year and in the future.

Thank you for your support of our district.  If you have any questions or comments please feel free to come by my office, call me at (918) 443-6080, or email me at max.tanner@oologah.k12.ok.us.

Yours in Education,

Max Tanner
