In April of the 2023–2024 school year, Oologah-Talala Public Schools partnered with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office to enhance campus safety and student engagement through a dedicated School Resource Officer.
Deputy Jared Tice, a 2001 Oologah graduate, now serves as the district’s SRO. He is a CLEET-certified peace officer and will complete his basic SRO certification through NASRO (National Association of School Resource Officers) in July, followed by an advanced certification in November. He has also received extensive training in active shooter response through the FBI.
Deputy Tice’s Role Includes:
Ensuring campus safety throughout the school year
Building strong, positive relationships with students and staff
Teaching safety-focused classes at both the elementary and secondary levels, covering topics like drug and alcohol prevention and personal safety
Deputy Tice is committed to serving his community and supporting a safe, welcoming learning environment for all students.
